Back in April 2016, the University of North Dakota signed an eight year fleet replacement contract with Piper Aircraft for a total of 80 Archer TXs and 20 Piper Seminoles (UND Continues to Increase Piper Trainer Fleet. 2017). Typically, CFI’s from UND are awarded the trip down to the factory and experience on the ferry flight back to school in Grand Forks, ND. With travel restrictions inspired by COVID-19, UND is not allowing the school CFI’s to travel and continue to instruct. To maintain their delivery schedule, Havens Aero got the call to help move a flight of three new Archer TX up aircraft to the school alonside Piper factory piltos. Check out some details from our trip below!
